Jungle canopy meeting the Pacific above Playa Guiones, Nosara
Our Story

Built on the belief that less, slowly, is more.

Noma began with a single stone house in the jungle above Playa Guiones — and a refusal to call it a hotel.

Years on, the philosophy has not changed. Four private suites, one quiet hillside, and a small team who live within walking distance of the sand. We added water, light, linen — and stepped away. Guests arrive to a house that has been waiting for them, and leave with the rare feeling of having gone nowhere at all.

Pura vidaThe canopy is not scenery here — it is a neighbour. Iguanas sun on the balcony rails, howlers wake the property before we do, and the Pacific carries the afternoon breeze up the hill. We built Noma to keep out of its way.

What Guides Us

Three quiet principles

01

Privacy

Single-party bookings. Discreet staff. No lobbies, no neighbors, no compromise.

02

Place

One sanctuary above Playa Guiones. Architecture set into the canopy, never on top of it.

03

People

Local to Nosara. Our housekeepers, chefs, and surf guides live within a few kilometers of the property.

Where we are

On a quiet hill above Playa Guiones.

Noma sits in the hills of Nosara, Guanacaste — ten minutes from the surf at Playa Guiones, forty-five from Liberia International. The wider coast unfolds from here: Ostional turtle beaches to the south, the long crescents of Sámara, Tamarindo, and Playa Conchal to the north. Stay close, or wander far. Our concierge plans both.
